Tasty Tuesday got a little redundant so I switched it up to “Travel Tuesday”. That way I can sit here and fantasize about being in an exotic location on a beach while I’m actually crunched uncomfortably in an office chair hammering away on my key board.
How amazing are these gorgeous structures in Burma! They are actually ancient temples nestled on the beach. The GOLD leafing that towers from the columns is so intricate.
I would love to visit!

Jalapeno Poppers for the holiday!!!
Bring the spice to the table this Labor Day holiday with this kicker- try out the GRILLED HOLIDAY POPPER RECIPE:
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 16 whole jalapeno peppers with stems
- 8 slices bacon, cut in half crosswise
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
- Mix together the cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Cheddar cheese in a bowl until the mixture is thoroughly blended.
- Lay a jalapeno pepper onto a work surface, and cut a lengthwise sliver from the side of the pepper, exposing the seeds and white membrane. With the handle of a teaspoon, scrape out the seeds and membrane, leaving the hollow pepper. Repeat for the rest of the peppers. Chop up the pepper slices, and mix into the cheese stuffing. Stuff each pepper with cheese mixture, and wrap each stuffed pepper in a half bacon slice. Secure with toothpicks.
- Grill the poppers on a less-hot part of the grill until the peppers are hot and juicy and the bacon is browned, 30 to 40 minutes.

What To Wear Wednesday?
Even though it’s only Wednesday doesn’t mean you can have fun with your wardrobe, although you probably won’t be rocking a gold fairy frock the other items are totally acceptable to throw on with your outfit, even a pair of jeans!

7 Beautiful Train Stations | Gare de Lyon, Paris
I think we need these in ALL yellow-gold tone in the Gold Buying Girl Corporate office. How cozy do these look! Not that we have a lot of visitors or anything. It’s just a few hard working gals in the old layer each day. Nonetheless, these look amazingly plush and I could take just a 10 minute power nap on that long one!
I love home design, so whenever I find cool things I love too share them with everyone.

What are Olympic Medals Made of You Ask?
Did you know Olympic Gold medals are not really made of gold?
You’re absolutely hearing me correctly! Actually, they’re not even composed of all silver! Just a hint of gold is mixed in and a thin layer covers the surface of the iconic medallion that is valued at a mere $640.
With today’s price of the precious metal, a gold medal crafted entirely of gold would run the Olympic Committee a hefty price tag of about $20,000 a pop!
In fact, the gold medal is comprised of 92.5% silver, just 1.34% (or six grams of gold) and the rest is made of copper.
Funny Fact # 2: 97% of the bronze medal is also made of copper!
Just incase you didn’t catch all of that: the gold medal is silver, the silver medal is silver and the bronze medal is copper.
Post extracted, the silver, copper and tiny smidges gold are shipped off to be pressed into their familiar circular shape to the standards of the committee.
Ironic how Olympians train their entire lives to obtain a piece of oh so precious [semi-precious] metal that was once mined from such humble beginnings. However, ask an Olympian and they’ll tell you it is priceless!
Congratulations Ryan Lochte and Team USA!!
Check out Lochte’s ultimate expression of patriotism as he represented the USA in true bling and gold fashion at the Olympic games!
Ryan Lochte proudly shows off his American Flag Grill and his Gold Medal during the Medal Ceremony for the Men’s 400m Individual Medley on Day 1 of the 2012 Summer Olympics at the Aquatics Centre on Saturday (July 28) in London, England.
The 27-year-old swimmer is famous for wearing grills on his teeth at medal ceremonies, but we are loving his American pride at the Olympic Games!
“Yes, I am wearing one in London, and I wear them because they are different and fun. That’s my personality,” Ryantold USA Today.
While Ryan still showed off the grill at the games, he wasn’t allowed to wear it during the medal ceremony.

Remember not everybody like spicy, so take it easy on the cayanne. I like to add my own freshly chopped habanero peppers to give it an extra kick.
